How To: Use Any Bottle to Make Too-Cute Ice Flowers for Your Punch Bowl

We love a good bowl of punch just as much as the next partygoer. But you don't want to be the one to make his or her way to the bowl after all the ice melts and turns that beautiful beverage into a watery wasteland.

Luckily, there's a simple way to make sure every cup of fruity deliciousness is as tasty and fresh as possible—just use fruit juice ice cubes in the same flavor of your punch. Even better, when presentation is just as important as taste, opt for frozen fruit juice flowers instead.

These ever-so-cute ice cubes are made using the bottoms of plastic bottles, and what they create is the perfect way to ditch your watered-down drink. They look great. They taste great. And let's face it, they keep your guests lip-smacking happy.

What You'll Need

• plastic bottles (we used a 42.3-oz. bottle and an 18-oz. bottle)
• fruit juice (we opted for lemonade)

Step 1: Cut the Bottles

Using a craft knife, kitchen shears, or a very sharp serrated kitchen knife (like a bread knife), carefully slice the bottoms off of your plastic bottles.

Step 2: Form Your Flowers

Fill up the bottoms with fruit juice or purée to create your flower, then pop them in the freezer.

Step 3: Remove Your Flowers from the Molds

Remove them from the freezer once frozen, ease them gently out of the bottles, and there you have it—your very own frozen fruit juice flowers! It couldn't be simpler, tastier, or more creative!

If you want to make your flowers stand out a bit more from your beverage, use a complementary-colored fruit juice or purée. Or, add bright food coloring to a clear juice for an extra pop of color and a more consistent taste once the ice starts melting.

Step 4: Get Punch Drunk

Add those floral beauties to your punch to make your party-goers "ooh" and "ah" with amazement.

But What About the Rest of the Bottle?

The fact that this reuses empty bottles makes it an ideal recycling project. But if you just toss out the rest of the bottle, you're not truly doing your part for our planet. So here are a few ways to use the rest of the bottle:
